Animosity among Nigeria’s security agencies hampering fight against Boko Haram – U.S.

Animosity between Nigeria’s security agencies and their unwillingness to share intelligence are hampering efforts at effectively combating Boko Haram insurgency in the country’s North-east, United States government has stated. No National ID number, no passport from 2018 — NIS

Nigeria Immigration Service says from January 1, 2018, anybody without the National Identification Number, issued by the National Identity Management Commission, will not be able to procure Nigerian passport. It added that the condition applied to both first-time applicants and those renewing their expired document. After several weeks of anxiety, Ondo State Governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Tuesday forwarded a list comprising names of 18 nominees as commissioners to the speaker of the state House of Assembly for confirmation. UNIPORT expels six students, suspends seven workers

Senate of University of Port Harcourt, UNIPORT, on Tuesday announced expulsion of six students of the institution for various offences. An official bulletin of the university stated that the offences included examination malpractice and incitement. Immigration Service to recruit 1,112 officers

Nigeria Immigration Service is in the process of hiring 1,112 officers in its ongoing recruitment drive, Comptroller General of the service, Muhammad Babandede has said. The recruitment exercise is the first since 2014 when a similar exercise was mired by controversy following a stampede that killed many applicants.
