No fewer than seven people have been confirmed killed in bandits’ attacks on four villages across Igabi, Chikun and Zangon-Kataf local government areas of Kaduna State, while 18 others have been reportedly kidnapped in Udawa along Birnin-Gwari-Kaduna Road. A former governorship aspirant in Plateau State during the 2019 elections, Kemi Nshe, has been kidnapped by gunmen. Nshe, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party who served as chairman of Shendam Local Government Area of the state at different times, was kidnapped alongside Monday Hassan, Chairman of Academic Staff Union of Universities at the Plateau State University, Bokkos. Armed persons for several hours late Saturday attacked 15 communities in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, killing at least seven people. Residents said the attacks started from late on Saturday, Christmas Day, to the early hours of Sunday.
