General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has formally been invited by the Department of State Services to appear at its National Headquarters in Abuja. Our correspondent learnt on Saturday that the cleric was invited for interrogation on Monday (tomorrow) by 10am, based on his recent alleged inciting comments that Christians should defend themselves against attacks by Fulani herdsmen. “Suleman will be appearing before the DSS with about 30 lawyers because we believe that his persecution has become politicised,” a source stated. The invitation is coming four days after Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State foiled attempts…

Gov. Nyesom Wike of Rivers has said he officially wrote to President Muhammadu Buhari asking him to hand over two armoured helicopters seized by Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) to Nigeria Air Force (NAF). The governor’s claim contradicts the claim of NCS that the owner of the aircraft was not known. Wike, in a statement issued by his spokesman, Simeon Nwakaudu, in Port Harcourt on Saturday, said he wrote the president because of high custom duties and refusal of the Federal Government to grant waiver on the helicopters. He said, “these helicopters were imported by the immediate past administration; and when…
The capital of Nigeria is a picture of order compared with Lagos, the chaotic commercial hub. But whereas Abuja’s sweeping avenues are well maintained, the runway of its airport is potholed. Several aircraft have damaged their landing gear on the rutted tarmac. Facing the risk of a serious crash, the government is closing the whole place for six weeks from March 8th. “The entire architecture of the runway, it has failed,” says the minister of aviation. The government hopes airlines will fly instead to Kaduna, a mere 230km (140 miles) north of Abuja, while the runway’s central portion is rebuilt,…

A cross section of Nigerians have continued to comment on the latest picture of President Muhammadu Buhari, who is currently on a 10-day working leave in London, UK. The new picture, which was posted on Friday night, showed the president in a relaxed posture with some of his visitors, including Gov. Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun. Others in the picture are some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The picture shows Buhari in London, contrary to the malicious rumours being peddled by some Nigerians in the social media that he was either dead or ‘under intensive care’. Some of the…
After wasting billions in almost a decade, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has, again, invited fresh bids to provide support services for its failed enterprise resource solution initiated to deepen accountability in its business processes. The Systems, Applications, Products, SAP enterprise resources planning system is an electronic management solution initiated by the Obasanjo administration to monitor real-time operation of a network of NNPC subsidiaries and affiliates irrespective of their locations. The electronic system is mostly deployed by global organisations to link their network of subsidiaries and units scattered in various locations, for easy monitoring of their operations and activities. But,…
You once came out to accuse President Muhammadu Buhari of perpetuating the worst form of nepotism in Nigeria; do you still hold this view? Absolutely! I have seen no evidence so far to make me change my mind. In the previous interview I granted you, I did ask Nigerians or anybody else to look at the evidence I produced and that evidence is very much alive and well and can be verified by anybody who cares to verify it. As far as I am concerned, I stand by everything about the allegations I levelled against President Buhari, Mamman Daura and…
Vice- Chancellor, University of Maiduguri, Professor Abubakar Njodi, has said the North-east may take 500 years to recover from the destruction inflicted by Boko Haram on its education system and attain the current standard in southern Nigeria. He made this remark on Friday when he received a delegation from the Victims’ Support Fund, VSF, on a condolence visit over the January 16 suicide bomb attack that…
