Oyo threatens to revoke road projects over slow pace of work

Funmi Olaitan, Ibadan Oyo State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Mr. Wasiu Dauda, has expressed displeasure over the pace of some road projects going on in the state, warning that the state government might consider the revocation option if the contractors do not adjust. He said this during inspection tour of ongoing projects that contractors had promised to complete within certain stimulated time. Buhari to honour Imam who saved 300 Christians from Plateau killings

President Muhammadu Buhari has instructed Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State to bring the 83-year-old Imam of Nghar village, Gashish District in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, Mr Abdullahi Abubakar, to Abuja for “a handshake and national honour.” Lalong said the President took the decision following reports that the Imam saved about 300 persons on June 24 when suspected Fulani herdsmen invaded about 15 communities in Barkin Ladi LGA, killing over 200 persons. NAPTIP launches app to tackle human trafficking

National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has launched a-one-in-all platform for the public called “NAPTIP ireport App.” The application was launched during a press conference Monday in Abuja. FG to send air force, 1,000 security personnel to tackle banditry

Nigeria will deploy its air force and 1,000 security personnel to fight banditry in the northwest of the country, President Muhammadu Buhari said on Sunday. Skywatchers around the world have witnessed the longest "blood moon" eclipse of the 21st Century. Ex-Gombe gov, Hashidu, is dead

First civilian governor of Gombe State, Mr Abubakar Hashidu, Friday passed on at the age of 74 years after a protracted illness. Hashidu died in his home around 10:30 am in Gombe, leaving behind a wife, eight children, 15 grandchildren and one great-grand child.
