APC national caucus meets today ahead of rescheduled elections

All Progressives Congress (APC) National Caucus will today (Monday) hold an emergency meeting in Abuja to discuss prevailing national issues. The meeting is coming after Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) postponed the earlier scheduled February 16 presidential and National Assembly elections. APC caucus, which is a statutory organ of the party, is chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari and has the Vice President and all the party’s former governors as members. Election shift: INEC ignorant, we’ll reopen campaign – PDP

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says it is set to reopen its campaign following postponement of presidential and National Assembly elections by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). INEC chairman, Mr Mahmood Yakubu, had on Saturday at a press briefing said campaigns remained stopped for the elections as they had been since last Friday. Campaigns remain closed – INEC

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said campaigns for presidential and national assembly elections remain closed. INEC chairman, Mr Mahmood Yakubu, said this at a press briefing with major stakeholders on Saturday, explaining reasons for the postponement. The commission postponed the election from February 16 to February 23, citing logistics challenges. 14 feared dead at Buhari’s rally in Rivers

EFCC inaugurates team to monitor vote buying – Official

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has set up a task force to monitor persons who intend to fund vote buying in the coming elections. Police Service Commission (PSC) said it would deploy 400 of its personnel to the 36 States of the federation and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to monitor conduct of policemen during Saturday elections.
