Onnoghen’s suspension is judicial coup - Opposition parties

Opposition political parties have described President Muhammadu Buhari’s suspension of CJN as a judicial coup that must be resisted by all lovers of democracy. First national spokesman of Coalition of United Political Parties, Mr Imo Ugochinyere, said this in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja. Ugochinyere said Buhari had by his action overthrown constitutional order. He, therefore, called on Senate to begin the process of removing the President from office. INEC rejects Ezekwesili’s withdrawal from presidential race

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it is too late for any candidate to withdraw from contesting any position in the upcoming elections. Danjuma alleges plot to rig elections

A former Minister of Defence Mr Theophilus Danjuma on Tuesday raised the alarm over an alleged plot to rig next month’s general elections. One dead, many injured as platform collapses at Buhari’s Campaign

At least one person died while over 50 people were injured on Monday after a platform at President Muhammadu Buhari’s election campaign venue in Maiduguri, Borno State, collapsed, witnesses said.
