PDP loses two members to APC in House of Reps

Two members of House of Representatives have left opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The lawmakers, Mr Ephreaim Nwuzi, who represents Etche/Omuma Federal Constituency of Rivers and Mr David Abel, who represents Gashaka/Kurmi/Sardauna Federal Constituency of Taraba, made their decision known in separate letters to Speaker of the house, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila. The letters were read on the floor of the house during plenary on Tuesday. Seven Edo lawmakers dump APC for PDP

Edo State House of Assembly speaker, Mr Frank Okiye and six other state lawmakers on Tuesday formally dumped All Progressives Congress (APC) for People Democratic Party (PDP). Court of Appeal in Abuja has voided the judgment of Bayelsa State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal which nullified the election of Governor Duoye Diri. A five-member panel of justices presided by Mr Adzira Mshelia on Friday unanimously held that the grounds of the appeal by Diri of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has merit and upheld their submissions. President Faure Gnassingbe of Togo has named Ms Victoire Tomegah-Dogbe as prime minister, making her the first woman to hold the position in the West African nation.
