Ogun residents chase away police in protest against abduction of four motorists near checkpoint

Residents of Ayetoro, Ilara and Abeokuta staged a protest on Wednesday against the abduction of a commercial driver and three of his passengers on the Abeokuta-Imala-Ilara-Ayetoro Road in the Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State. The victims were abducted by gunmen at Olubo village, the same spot where a doctor and a nurse were kidnapped last month. Katsina govt accuses security personnel of aiding banditry

Miyetti Allah chairman kidnapped in Kogi

Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Kogi State, Wakili Damina, has been abducted. The state Secretary of MACBAN, Adamu Abubakar, told newsmen in Lokoja on Tuesday that Damina was abducted on April 30 by some armed men dressed in army camouflage. More than a dozen people, including seven soldiers, were killed by Islamist militants in an attack in northeast Nigeria, four sources told Reuters.
