Two security personnel die in gun battle with bandits in Niger state

Two security operatives were reportedly killed, following an attack on Kundu community in Rafi LGA, Niger state. According to residents of the community, gunmen invaded the community on Saturday, but were repelled by a joint operation involving the military, police and local vigilantes. Some bandits were also said to have died in the attack. Bandits kill village head, abduct 60 people in Zamfara

Gunmen abducted at least 60 people and killed one person in northwestern Nigeria after riding motorbikes into five villages and firing sporadically into the air, a police official and several residents said on Saturday. Bandits have killed two Nigerian soldiers, wounded several others and abducted many people in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto state. Ahmed, who was recently appointed director at army headquarters, was shot dead in Abaji area of the Federal Capital Territory Thursday night. Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has launched ‘Eagle Eye’, an online application for reporting crime.
