Over 70 killed as Boko Haram attacks Borno communities

More than 70 persons were reportedly killed after Boko Haram fighters invaded Faduma Koloram village in Gubio local government area of Borno state on Tuesday. The insurgents, who stormed the village in gun trucks and motorcycles, also carted away many cattle. A security source told reporters that they struck in the afternoon. “They got into the village around 12:15pm and the first place they attacked was Zowo ward at Faduma Koloram,” the source said. “They accused the people there of spying on them and vowed to teach them lessons. President of the Customary Court in Taraba State, Mr Donatus Shidda, has been kidnapped. Eleven people were killed in separate attacks on villages in two local government areas of Benue State between Thursday and Saturday. Nine persons, including eight policemen, were killed in Isanlu, Kogi state, when a gang of suspected armed robbers attacked a branch of first generation bank in the town. Gunmen kill 21 in fresh attacks on Zamfara communities

At least 21 people have been killed by gunmen in separate attacks in Talata Mafara and Maru local Government Areas of Zamfara state, police and residents said.
