Plane overloaded with cocaine crashes on take-off

A light aircraft overloaded with cocaine crashed on take-off on its way to Australia, police said on Saturday, exposing a Melbourne-based crime syndicate and leading to the arrest of five men with alleged links to the Italian mafia. A Florida teen hacked the Twitter accounts of prominent politicians, celebrities and technology moguls to scam people around globe out of more than $100,000 in Bitcoin, authorities said Friday. The 17-year-old boy was arrested earlier Friday in Tampa, where the Hillsborough State Attorney’s Office will prosecute the case. He faces 30 felony charges, according to a news release. Armed robbers attack bullion van, kill four police officers in Ebonyi

Gunmen, on Wednesday, attacked a bullion van in Ebonyi State, killing four police officers escorting the vehicle. The gunmen, it was gathered, tried unsuccessfully to intercept the bullion van at Ezzamgbo junction, in Ohaukwu Local Government Area. The van was transporting money from Enugu to Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital. Gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen on Friday night attacked three communities in Jema’a and Kaura Local Government Areas of Southern Kaduna area of Kaduna State and killed at least nine persons. Armed men on Thursday ambushed officials of Nigerian Correctional Service within the vicinity of Plateau State High Court in Barkin Ladi local government area of the State and freed suspects taken for arraignment in the court. 16 kidnapped in fresh Niger bandit attacks

No fewer than 16 persons have been kidnapped in fresh bandit attacks in Niger. The incident occurred in Magani and Tungan-Bako communities of Rafi Local Government area of the state at around 11 am on Monday.
