Customs seizes vehicles, rice, others worth N10bn in single operation

Federal Operations Unit (FOU), Zone A of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), on Sunday, announced a single seizure of contrabands with Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N10 billion. Customs Area Controller (CAC), Mr Usman Yahaya, in a statement in Lagos, said that the seizure made in one day was at Ido, Eruwa Road in Ibadan. Serial rapist, murderer arrested last month escapes from police custody in Ibadan

A 19-year-old, Sunday Shodipe, prime suspect in serial killings that rocked Akinyele area of Oyo state, has escaped police custody nearly a month after his arrest. Gunmen have killed a member of Bauchi state house of assembly, Mr Musa Baraza, and abducted his two wives and one-year-old daughter. The incident happened at his residence in Dass local government area of Bauchi. Gunmen invade Niger community, kill 14, rustle cattle

Police Command in Niger state says 14 persons have been killed by gunmen at Ukuru Village in Mariga Local Government Area of the state. The command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Wasiu Abiodun, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Minna. Kano Upper Shari’a Court has sentenced a 22-year old man, Yahaya Sharif, to death by hanging for blaspheming Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Gunmen on motorcycles killed six French aid workers, a Nigerien guide and a driver in a wildlife park in Niger on Sunday, officials said. Gunmen attack Southern Kaduna villages, kill 21

Gunmen killed 21 people in night attacks on four Kaduna State villages, Police confirmed on Thursday. An unspecified number of houses were burnt by the marauders, including one belonging to a dead colonel. Police spokesman, Mr Muhammad Jalige said three people were injured. Oyo approves take-off funds for Operation Amotekun

Oyo State Government has approved N59.7m as take-off grants for the State Security Network Agency, codenamed ‘Operation Amotekun’. Suspected militants from Islamist group Boko Haram killed 15 people and wounded six others in a grenade attack on a camp for displaced people in northern Cameroon on Sunday, a security source and a local official told Reuters.
