Police have arrested a suspected internet fraudster, Mr Chukwuebuka Obiaku, who allegedly lured an American woman to Nigeria with marriage and extorted her of $48,000. Police spokesperson, Mr Frank Mba, said the woman was rescued in a Lagos hotel after being confined in a hotel for over a year. “Police operatives have successfully rescued an American citizen who was confined in a Lagos hotel where she was held against her wish for over a year.” The police however did not name the hotel. Twenty-two persons have been killed in Southern Kaduna communities in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) has said. The mouthpiece of the communities raised the alarm over what it called “continuous killing” of its people. Most wanted gang leader, Mr Biola Ebila, has been killed in Ibadan, Oyo State capital. It was gathered that Ebila was killed in a crossfire at Olomi area on Sunday following a clash between two rival groups. Police later moved into the area to quell the hostility. No fewer than 20 people have been killed by gunmen following an attack on Chibuak and Kigudu II communities in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna state. The two villages were said to have been attacked consecutively on Thursday and Friday at midnight while some of the villagers were said to be missing. Unknown gunmen Friday evening attacked Isinbode Ekiti in Ekiti East Local Government Area and whisked away three persons. Two naval officers, a male and female, were shot dead on Thursday along Lokoja-Okene Expressway in Kogi State. The incident occurred around 6pm. Ekiti State Government has commenced recruitment of personnels into its State Security Network also known as Amotekun corps.
