Seven killed as bandits attack Katsina communities

Bandits have allegedly killed seven persons in another round of attacks in Kasai and Nahuta villages in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State. Residents said the attacks were carried out Friday night when people in the two communities were about observing prayers. A resident of a nearby community, Kurmiyal who identified himself as Sama’ila Lihidda, said the suspected bandits stormed the two communities on motorcycles, armed with weapons. US sanctions 6 Nigerians over $6m cyber fraud

US government has sanctioned six Nigerians over $6 million cyber fraud against its citizens. US secretary of state, Mr Mike Pompeo, disclosed this in a statement published on the department of state’s website, on Tuesday. The six persons were identified as: Benson Orson, Kayode Abiola, Ogunshakin Alex, Okpoh Felix, Olorunyomi Micheal, and Uzuh Richard. Court martial orders dismissal of Army general over missing funds

General Court Martial (GMC) set up by Nigerian Army to try former General Officer Commanding 8 division, Sokoto, Mr Hakeem Otiki, has found him guilty on all five counts. Rape epidemic: 717 cases recorded in 5 months - IGP

Two policemen killed as gunmen attack 12 Niger communities

Gunmen have raided 12 communities in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, killing one police inspector and a corporal. FG vows severe punishment for rapists, advices states to domesticate law

Federal Government yesterday vowed to henceforth bring the full weight of the law on rapists, describing the rising cases as embarrassing. Man caught after raping 40 women in Kano

Police in Kano have arrested a 32-year-old man, Mr Muhammad Alfa, for allegedly raping 40 women in the past one year in the state. Bandits kill another 20 in Katsina village - Police

Gunmen killed at least 20 people in attacks in Kadisau village, Katsina state, police and residents said on Wednesday. Hundreds of people have been killed in the last year by criminal gangs carrying out robberies and kidnappings in northwest Nigeria. How Boko Haram deceived us before killing over 70 people - Survivor
