Gunmen blow up Kogi prison, kill 2 security guards, free inmates

Heavily armed gunmen raided a jail in Kogi state late on Sunday, blowing up the perimeter fence and freeing 266 inmates - almost everyone in the prison, authorities said. A soldier and a police officer were killed in the attack and two guards were missing, the interior ministry said. It was the second major jailbreak in Nigeria this year. Gunmen kill 11 in same Kaduna community pastor was murdered

An attack on Apiyejim-Kibori community in Zango-Kataf LGA of Kaduna state has left eleven people dead. The attack came less than 24 hours after the murder of Silas Yakubu Ali, a pastor of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) in the same community. Gunmen on Monday abducted four passengers along the Ayetoro Ekiti–Otun Ekiti Road in Moba Local Government Area of Ekiti state. Gunmen waylay travelers on Ondo highway, abduct 12

Hours after their abduction, some of the kidnapped travellers in Ondo State have been rescued by men of the State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun. Gunmen burn three policemen inside patrol van In Delta

Three officers of the Delta State Police Command have been shot dead, with their corpses set on fire. US court jails Nigerian over $2.6m unemployment benefit fraud

Bamidele Muraina, a 34-year-old Nigerian, has been sentenced to 70 months in a US prison for fraudulently claiming unemployment insurance benefits worth $2.6 million.
