18 Nigerians die of tuberculosis every hour – Expert

At least 18 Nigerians die from Tuberculosis (TB) every hour, a TB expert, Lovett Lawson, has said. Mr Lawson, Board Chairman of Stop TB partnership Nigeria, disclosed this at a pre-World TB Day press conference in Abuja on Thursday. World TB Day is celebrated March 24 to raise awareness about the health, social and economic consequence of the disease and to step up efforts to end TB epidemic. 8 dead, scores injured, trapped as school collapses in Lagos

Emergency crews sifted through debris as night fell on frantic efforts to rescue scores of school children and others feared trapped inside a three-storey building that collapsed Wednesday in Nigeria’s densely populated commercial capital, Lagos. Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has listed at least 19 items which it said remained prohibited for the over 1.8 million candidates taking the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
