National Universities Commission (NUC) on Tuesday presented provisional licences to four newly approved private universities in Nigeria. The new universities are Greenfield University, Kaduna; Dominion University, Ibadan Oyo State; Trinity University, Ogun State; and Westland University in Iwo, Osun State. NMA tasks FG over cancer control plan

Daniel Agbolade, Ibadan President of Nigeria Medical Association, (NMA), Mr. Francis Faduyile, has called for urgent implementation of National Cancer Control Plan 2018-2022 by the Federal Government. Oyo to launch BESDA

Mr Babafemi Ojudu, a political adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari, on Sunday thanked safety measures and quick response of security personnel for saving himself and 11 others who were in the helicopter that crashed on Saturday. Ex-senator, Waku is dead

A former Senator, Mr Joseph Waku is dead. According to a family source, Waku died yesterday evening at National Hospital in Abuja after a brief illness. Born on June 12, 1946, Waku was elected Senator representing Benue North-west district at National Assembly in 1999, on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). A native of Waku village in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, Waku was at the Senate between 1999 and 2003. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo escaped death on Saturday as his helicopter crash-landed in Kogi state, his spokesperson, Laolu Akande, said. Mr Akande in a tweet said, “VP Osinbajo’s Chopper crash lands in Kabba, but he and the entire crew safe.
