Reps threaten legal action over allegations of vote buying by Gbajabiamila

One week after emergence of Mr Femi Gbajabiamila as Speaker of House of Representatives, crisis is already brewing over allegations of vote-buying. Some of the lawmakers are of the view that the election which brought him into office was marred by irregularities. They are already contemplating to approach the court to seek redress. The lawmakers, under the aegis of G-70, alleged that members were induced financially to cast their votes for Gbajabiamila. 91 political parties to remain as INEC says it lacks power to deregister

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said it lacked the constitutional power to deregister any of the existing 91 political parties in the country. INEC Federal Commissioner in charge of Nasarawa, Kogi and Kwara States, Mr Muhammed Haruna, made this known on Monday in Lokoja while declaring open a post-election review meeting on the last general elections. INEC to Tribunal: Atiku, PDP asking us for computer server we don’t have

Independent National Electoral Commission on Thursday insisted that it had no electronic server being sought to be accessed and inspected by Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate in the February 23, 2019 presidential election, Mr Atiku Abubakar. Ganduje demands public apology from Sanusi for reconciliation to succeed
