A former vice president, Mr Atiku Abubakar, has described federal government’s accusation that he is a saboteur as false. He described the information minister, Mr Lai Mohammed, as a ‘liar.’ Abubakar was reacting to an earlier statement by Mohammed that the former vice president and his party, PDP, were plotting to sabotage the Buhari administration. “Either by themselves or via their proxies, PDP and its presidential candidate are doing everything possible to sabotage the Buhari Administration, generally overheat the polity and make Nigeria seemingly ungovernable, especially through their public utterances and their poorly-thought-out press releases before and after the 2019…
Chief of Army Staff, Mr Tukur Buratai, on Wednesday accused some politicians defeated in the just concluded general elections of being responsible for the current heightened security situation in parts of Nigeria. Buratai, a lieutenant-general, levelled the accusation in Maiduguri when he received House Committee on Army led by its Chairman, Mr Remande Shawulu, at the Theatre Command. “The myriad of security challenges we are facing now in the North West, North Central and other parts of the country, I want to believe and rightly so, is the fall out of the just concluded general elections. “There are several political…

He said he had retired four political godfathers in Kaduna. He also suggested how to retire godfathers in Lagos politics. Peoples Democratic Party on Thursday asked President of Court of Appeal, Mrs Zainab Bulkachuwa, to withdraw as a member of the five-man panel of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal. In a petition received in the Court of Appeal’s President’s office in Abuja, on Thursday, the party alleged that as the chairman of the five-man panel, Bulkachuwa would likely be biased in the handling of the tribunal’s proceedings because of her ties to family members belonging to All Progressives Congress. The party, in the petition which was signed by its National Chairman, Mr Uche Secondus, and its National Secretary, Mr Umaru…
President of Court of Appeal, Mrs Zainab Bulkachuwa, has threatened to deal with lawyers, petitioners and the media found analysing in the media any petition before the presidential election tribunal. Bulkachuwa said any lawyer found analysing a case after a court sitting would be liable to being dealt with by the appellate court.
