Oyo PDP guber candidate unveils running mate

Daniel Agbolade Ahead of 2019 general elections, gubernatorial candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Mr. Seyi Makinde, Friday in Ibadan unveiled Mr. Rauf Aderemi Olaniyan, as his running mate. State Chairman of the party, Mr. Kunmi Mustapha, who did the unveiling at the inauguration of the gubernatorial campaign committee of the party, said the decision to pick Olaniyan was arrived at after consultations with party's stakeholders and elders. A Special Appeal Panel set up by President of Court of Appeal, Mrs Zainab Bulkachuwa, to handle the protracted legal tussle in Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has struck out an appeal by factional chairman of the party, Mr Flag-Amachree Ojukaiye. Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has introduced a new measure on ballot paper handling at polling units to check vote buying in 2019 general elections. Its Chairman, Mr Mahmud Yakubu, disclosed this at a public hearing on ‘Vote Buying and Improving Electoral Processes in Nigeria’, conducted by National Assembly Joint Committee on INEC in Abuja on Monday. President of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Mr Samson Ayokunle, on Monday urged Nigerians to avoid desperate politicians by voting only credible candidates in 2019.
