A’Ibom gov makes u-turn, approves stadium for Buhari’s campaign

Akwa Ibom state governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, has approved the use of Godswill Akpabio International Stadium for flag-off of President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election campaign in South-South zone. Akwa Ibom State Government has rejected an application for the use of Godswill Akapbio International Stadium for the inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign in Uyo, capital of the state. Instead, the government approved Uyo Township Stadium for the presidential campaign, scheduled to start on Friday December 28. Court of Appeal in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Tuesday declined to pronounce either Mr Buruji Kashamu or a member of House of Representatives, Mr Oladipo Adebutu, as governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State. United States Government has expressed fear that Nigeria’s general elections scheduled for 2019 are likely to be characterised by violence. Presidential Candidate of Social Democratic Party, (SDP), Mr Donald Duke, says he will appeal the judgement removing him as the party’s presidential flag bearer.
