Supreme Court affirms Ganduje, Tambuwal, Lalong, Mohammed’s elections

Supreme Court on Monday affirmed the elections of governors Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, Simon Lalong of Plateau State and Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State. The governors and their parties – Ganduje (All Progressives Congress), Tambuwal (Peoples Democratic Party), Lalong (APC) and Mohammed (PDP) – were in March 2019 declared the winners of the governorship elections after two rounds of polls held in the four states on March 9 and March 23, 2019. S/Court judgment: Anxiety in Kano, Sokoto as Ganduje, Tambuwal know fate today

Protest rocks South East over Supreme Court verdict on Imo gov

South East, yesterday, erupted in protests as supporters of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) kicked against removal of Mr Emeka Ihedioha as Imo governor by the Supreme Court. INEC to meet NASS over electronic transmission of results

Independent National Electoral Commission has revealed plans to meet the National Assembly to seek parliamentary action on electronic transmission of results in the 2023 general elections. The body also said it had started training the ad hoc workers for the 28 reruns scheduled for January 25. “We will engage the National Assembly when we finish internal consultations. President Muhammadu Buhari has asked Independent National Electoral Commission to allow the will of Nigerians prevail in all elections by ensuring free, fair and credible polls.
