IGP orders restriction of vehicular movement on Election Day, with these exceptions

Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba, has ordered a restriction of all forms of vehicular movement on roads, waterways, and other forms of transportation, from 12 midnight Friday to 6 pm on Saturday across the country.The IGP, said only those on essential services such as INEC Officials, Election Observers, Ambulances responding to medical emergencies, firefighters, journalists are allowed to move on Election Day.Baba who gave the order in Abuja, said it is part of measures put in place to ensure a safe, secure, and conducive environment for the conduct of elections. CBN fulfills promise, gives cash to INEC

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has received cash from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for election logistics. A national Commissioner of INEC disclosed this to our correspondent last night. There had been apprehension over the inability of INEC to get cash from the CBN even though its budget is a first-line charge. Independent National Electoral Commission says it has presented its cash requirement for prosecuting the forthcoming elections to the Central Bank of Nigeria, as requested by the apex bank.
