He was relatively unknown until a few months ago, and yet Peter Obi has been propelled to frontrunner status in Nigeria's upcoming election. Young, by Nigerian political standards, at 61, and with a reputation for probity in a country rife with corruption, he is the man to watch. His supporters say that if he wins the presidency in February, it will show Nigeria's democracy is in good shape in the world's first big election of 2023. Sky News had rare access to the Labour Party candidate during a brief visit to London. He is, he said, the change agent in…

Speaking on the development on…
Perhaps in the future, politicians, political analysts, strategists, scientists and consultants may want to look at one or two things here that make Atiku Abubakar’s campaign what it is, especially its tenacity, perseverance, astuteness and personal ties. Between 1993 and this year, that’s thirty years, Abubakar, former vice president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, would have contested the presidential election eight times. Twice – in 2007 and 2019 – he was a candidate on the platform of two different parties, and thrice – in 1993, 2011 and 2015 – he was stopped at the primaries level. He won twice…
