Court of Appeal strikes out FG’s appeal against Justice Ademola, others

Court of Appeal on Monday in Abuja struck out an appeal filed by federal government challenging the discharge of Mr Adeniyi Ademola, his wife, Olubowale, and a lawyer, Mr Joe Agi, from answering fraud charges. An FCT High Court had on April 5 dismissed all 18 counts, including gratification charges preferred against them following ruling on a no-case-submission application. FG records N3tn revenue shortfall in nine months

From January to September this year, Federal Government generated a total N6.93tn as revenue from oil and non-oil sources. The N6.93tn revenue was arrived at based on the analysis of data obtained from Central Bank of Nigeria. A breakdown of the revenue showed that N2.08tn was generated in the first quarter while the second and third quarters recorded N2.31tn and N2.52tn respectively. The amount generated in each of the quarter was far below budgeted quarterly estimate of N3.32tn. When spread over a nine-month period, budgeted quarterly estimate amounts to about N9.96tn. Commuters groan as gridlock worsens on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

The gridlock along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway continued on Saturday as commuters lamented the situation which left them stranded in the early hours of the day. Presidency speaks on Army’s ‘suspension’ of UNICEF activities

The presidency has spoken on Nigerian army’s announcement on Friday that it has “suspended” all activities of UNICEF in North-east.
