Another bandits attack on Katsina village claims 3 lives

Bandits have shot three persons dead at Maikwama village in Dandume Council of Katsina State. The bandits also stole food items and rustled a number of bulls used by farmers for tilling the farmlands. It was gathered that the incident occurred about 2 a.m. yesterday during heavy rainfall in the area. Several people were said to have sustained injuries during the attack, as the bandits shot sporadically and harassed many in their houses. The incident came less than 24 hours after bandits attacked neighbouring Kurmin Chakara village where they abducted one Kabiru, rustled domestic animals and carted away food items.…

Ten killed in yet another bandits attack in Zamfara

Armed men on Saturday killed at least ten people when they attacked Ruwan-Tofa community in Dansadau district of Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, residents have said. Maru is the same local government, alongside Talata Marafa, attacked by the armed men on June 2 and 3, during which 21 people were killed. The latest attack was confirmed by the police in Zamfara. Seven killed as bandits attack Katsina communities

Bandits have allegedly killed seven persons in another round of attacks in Kasai and Nahuta villages in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State. Residents said the attacks were carried out Friday night when people in the two communities were about observing prayers. US sanctions 6 Nigerians over $6m cyber fraud

US government has sanctioned six Nigerians over $6 million cyber fraud against its citizens. US secretary of state, Mr Mike Pompeo, disclosed this in a statement published on the department of state’s website, on Tuesday. The six persons were identified as: Benson Orson, Kayode Abiola, Ogunshakin Alex, Okpoh Felix, Olorunyomi Micheal, and Uzuh Richard. Court martial orders dismissal of Army general over missing funds

General Court Martial (GMC) set up by Nigerian Army to try former General Officer Commanding 8 division, Sokoto, Mr Hakeem Otiki, has found him guilty on all five counts. Rape epidemic: 717 cases recorded in 5 months - IGP

Suspected herdsmen kill nine in Benue, one in Imo

Two policemen killed as gunmen attack 12 Niger communities

Gunmen have raided 12 communities in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, killing one police inspector and a corporal. A student identified as Grace Oshiagwu has been reportedly raped and killed in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, the third in the state in two weeks. FG vows severe punishment for rapists, advices states to domesticate law

Federal Government yesterday vowed to henceforth bring the full weight of the law on rapists, describing the rising cases as embarrassing. It, therefore, sought the domestication of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act (VAPPA) 2015 in states for rapists to face severe punishment for their action. Man caught after raping 40 women in Kano

Police in Kano have arrested a 32-year-old man, Mr Muhammad Alfa, for allegedly raping 40 women in the past one year in the state.
