Boko Haram burnt 30 travelers to death at Maiduguri gate. This is why and how it happened

At least 30 persons, mostly travellers, stranded outside the military-controlled entrance gate of Maiduguri were on Sunday night killed by suspected Boko Haram insurgents. Governor of Borno State, Mr Babagana Zulum, confirmed the gruesome massacre of the travelers on Monday when he visited the site of the attack in Auno, a village 24km away from Maiduguri city centre. Gunmen storm ex-ABU VC’s house, abduct daughter

Gunmen on Friday night stormed the residence of a former vice chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Mr Abdullahi Mustapha, and took away his daughter. Confirming the incident yesterday, Mustapha said the gunmen came to the house around 11:20 pm. “Yes, it is true. They shot one security man, we don’t know who they are, as they have not contacted us yet,” he said. Supreme Court affirms jail term for Taraba ex-gov Nyame, expunges fines

Supreme Court yesterday affirmed judgment of the Court of Appeal which sentenced a former Governor of Taraba State, Mr Jolly Nyame, to 12 years imprisonment for corruption. A five man panel of the apex court presided over by Mrs Mary Peter-Odili, however set aside all fines slammed on him by the appellate court. Police wipe out 250 ‘terrorists’ in major operation in Kaduna forest

Police have announced a combat operation that led to the killing of 250 alleged terrorists in Kaduna State. Nigerian Customs seized $8m at Lagos airport. This is how it happened

Several large-sized brown paper wrappings containing a stash of foreign currency totalling $8.06 million was intercepted on the tarmac of Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, Nigerian Customs Service said Tuesday. Number of identified victims of modern slavery and human trafficking in London has risen more than tenfold in the space of five years, according to a new report which analyzes police data. Federal agents have found the "longest illicit cross-border tunnel ever discovered along the Southwest border," Customs and Border Protection announced Wednesday. 13 people killed in another Plateau violence – Police

Police in Plateau State have confirmed the killing of 13 persons by unknown gunmen in Kwatas village in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State. Bandits kill 11, kidnap scores, rape women in Niger communities

Armed bandits were again on rampage in some Niger communities on Saturday, killing 11 people, kidnapping scores of others, and raping women. Gunmen open fire on travellers arriving Kaduna from Abuja by train

Some passengers came under gun attack around Rigasa train station in Kaduna state on Friday.
